Boise is located in the 9th Circuit of the United States Federal Judiciary and is the county seat for Ada County in Idaho, as well as the capital of the state. The Idaho State Bar governs the law community and is financed by license fees paid by each Idaho attorney together with miscellaneous fees and revenues. It is totally self sufficient and requires no tax dollars. Boise is also home to many banks and credit unions, comparable to any city of this size.
