Known as the "City of Trees," Boise is very rich in culture. The Gene Harris Jazz Festival is hosted in Boise every year and Boise is home to the Boise Art Museum, which hosts several traveling exhibits each year. The city is also home to numerous theatres, such as the Boise Little Theatre (Idaho′s oldest continuous theater company), the Boise Contemporary Theatre, and the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Boise is also home to Built to Spill, an indie-rock band which has enjoyed national success and recognition.
